ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mulga @mulgatheartist
Mulga is Joel Moore, renowned Australian street artist, freelance illustrator, muralist, published author and designer of the much loved Mulga product range. Known for his unique Australian creations and signature style of intricate line work and bright colours, Mulga’s creations grace walls and objects across the world.
Mulga loves the beach and surfing and his summer inspired designs bring to life a world where tropical bearded men run rampant, tigers wear diamond sunglasses and gorillas rule the world like some kind of funky planet of the apes.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I drew this artwork for Halfcut earlier this year for a campaign about Rainforest protection and protecting Daintree Rainbow Fishies which are an endangered species of fish and only discovered in 2018.
The story of Danny the Daintree Rainbow Fish:
Once there was a magical rainbow fish called Danny and he and his fam lived in a lovely little creek in the Daintree Rainforest. Danny was part rainbow, part fan palm and part fish. He came into existence in 2018 after a tropical storm called Delilah withdrew her fury and in the aftermath a rainbows rays landed upon a fan palm, bounced into the creek and showered Danny the fish in magical rainbow particles known as Rainbowtrons. He was drinking a cool clear glass of H2O at the time and he thinks it gives him good luck so he drinks the H20 on the regular now.
The End.
