ABOUT THE ARTIST

Ben Brown @mentalben

Ben Brown is a Sydney based illustrator, designer and artist. We can’t be sure, but it’s quite possible that Ben Brown was born with superhuman X-ray vision. We think it helps him draw skulls and bones and stuff. Ben’s illustrations have a rockstar-pirate-hybrid-Andy Warhol flair. He specialises in poking fun at celebrities, literally peeling back layers of pretence to bare bones.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This artwork was created during lockdown. I was looking to do some new paintings and started work on a whole new bunch of drawings. I returned to these drawings sporadically and finished them as giclee prints. I like the aesthetics of skulls, outer space and gardening, colliding to create rad images.
