ABOUT THE ARTIST
Kate Banazi @katebanazi
Kate's current work celebrates relationships, the body in space, movement, shadows and colour. Interlocking shapes are held together lightly but always ready to fall apart. Negative space and line work map chaos, voids and beauty.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Hand-pulled silkscreen in an edition of only 5, printed in the studio using unretouched silkscreens. I do this as I use silkscreens more as a painting tool rather than one to create many multiples, I like the unexpected developments that happen when things are left to chance and also the elements that leave my hand visible in the making process.
Each screenprint is created from elements taken from life drawing, pulled apart, computerised and reassembled by hand printing each element individually. They become intricate portrait's created by obscured digitisation, process and lost information. Each print is hand made embracing the nuances that come from the screen printing process so each will have its own quirks and subtle differences that make each piece unique in the edition.
HOW ART AID WORKS
Choose your print size and select one of our charity partners, we will then donate a portion of the profits to the cause of your choice.
Every year we will send Kate a full breakdown of the $$ impact her artwork has made on the planet, pretty rad right?
